In November 1972 Geoffrey and David Lockwood purchased Lower
Quinton Garages Ltd which then comprised the former wheelwrights
timber workshop. Over the years a new workshop was constructed
and adjoining farm building were purchased and adapted. In the
early years repairs and maintenance to farm vehicles and machinery
was undertaken and the reputation in the area for excellent service,
seven days a week, was established.
In 1978 they were appointed
dealers for Renault Agriculture and since then many other first class
machinery franchises including the culmination of JCB Landpower in 1993
and Valtra in 2004.
The premises in Lower Quinton became inadequate for the size to which
the business had grown, and on 1st october 1997 we moved to a new
purpose built premises at Upper Quinton. The facilities in the new
building will enable the first class service to continue.
Workshop Manager Roy Mainwaring
and Parts Manager Martin Young are able to give a better service with
the assistance of fully trained technicians employed by the company.
Geoffrey Lockwood and Clive Ellard handle the new and used sales.
Admininstration is handled by David Lockwood and the long serving office
manager Sue Cook.
